welcome to st peter's gildersome
Situated on Church Street, right in the heart of Gildersome, St Peters is the Anglican parish church for the people of Gildersome.
The current church was built in 1992, replacing the former church that was built on the same site. The new church is an award-winning design - fresh and strikingly modern, it lends itself to the contemporary worship style that we have developed over the years.

4th SUNDAY of the MONTH
7.00 pm RE:FRESH Contemporary praise and worship
St Peters sits within the evangelical / charismatic tradition - with some more traditional elements. We are firmly committed to the transforming power of the Gospel, and the leading of the Holy Spirit in all of our lives.
If you come to one of our services you will experience worship led by a band - most likely with guitars, keyboard, bass guitar, violin plus singers. We sing modern worship songs with a few traditional hymns mixed in. The 'feel' is relaxed and informal.
Most weeks the children and young people have their own programme, but on the second Sunday of the month we have a Family Service where everyone joins together. This service is packed with activities, stories, music and fun for everyone.
OUR LIFE TOGETHER
St Peters is made up of around 100 regular attenders, with a similar number of wider church family members. Most of us live in Gildersome, with a few from a bit further afield - making us very much a 'local' church.
There are no 'super saints' at St Peters - just ordinary people, of all ages and backgrounds, trying to figure out what it means to follow Jesus, and become the church that God wants us to become.
During the week there are small groups who meet together to go deeper together - chatting through the sermon from the previous Sunday and sharing life together. We occasionally host short courses for those new to the church, as well as special events and services around festivals such as Christmas and Easter.
OUR WELCOME TO YOU
You are very warmly invited to dip your toe into the waters of St Peters. But please take us as you find us - we aren't perfect!
Call in whenever the church is open! We are here every Sunday and there is plenty going on through the week. Explore our site or connect with us on Facebook to find out more about what goes on here at St Peters, and how you can get involved.
You can also contact us about baptisms, weddings and other life events, as well as hire rooms within the church.
Give us a shout if we can help in any way or answer any of your questions. We very much look forward to meeting you.
