The Benefice works hard to safeguard children and young people, vulnerable adults and those in abusive relationships.
We aim to create a safe environment where children and young people are nurtured and protected and where all people, especially those who may be vulnerable for any reason, are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.
The Church councils of St Paul's Drighlington and St Peters Gildersome have formally adopted the Church of England House of Bishop’s Safeguarding policy for children, young people and adults.

Our commitment as a benefice is that:
-
We will promote a safer environment and culture.
-
We will safely recruit and support all those with any responsibility related to children and vulnerable adults.
-
We will respond promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation.
-
We will care pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns/allegations of abuse and other affected persons.
-
We will respond to those that may pose a present risk.
As a benefice we fully support and endorse the contents of the Parish Safeguarding Handbook.
